Vanderbilt Dining has won the Gold Award in the category of "Residential Dining - Special Events" in the 2012 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards for its entry: Viva Las Vandy. Vanderbilt Dining also won Honorable Mention award in the "Catering - Special Event" category for the entry: Farm to Fork.

The Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards celebrate exemplary menus, presentations, specail event planning, and new dining concepts, and provide an avenue for sharing ideas and creative presentations in campus dining services.

Vanderbilt Dining will be recognized at the NACUFS (National Association of College & University Food Service) national conference this July in Boston. The Grand Prize winners will be announced at that time.

Last Drop Coffee Shop was featured in FoodService Director Magazine for it’s unique vibe. 

 ”Coffee shops on college campuses are now a well-known entity. The aesthetics are usually of the Starbucks-inspired variety—warm colors, comfy seating and dim lighting. Not the case with 12,700-student Vanderbilt University’s year-old Last Drop Coffee Shop, located in the Sarratt Student Center. Camp Howard, director of dining, says he wanted to create a distinctly different experience with the location.”

New Taste of Nashville Restaurants

• Moe's Southwest Grill at 2525 West End
• Calypso Cafe on Elliston
• Smoothie King at the Rec Center

NEW Compostable Containers are Earth-Friendly!

These biocompostable containers are made from sugarcane and wheatstraw stalks
(renewable resources) and will biodegrade in 30 days. Containers are available at Rand Dining Center and Chef James Bistro for to-go items. Microwave safe.
