The Internship Database is to be used in helping current Vanderbilt students explore their options by providing a list of internship programs/employers that Vanderbilt students have held previously. These opportunities were reported primarily by the Summer Experience Survey sent to all returning Vanderbilt students in the fall semester.

Internships-USA is a subscription service purchased by the VCC. With Internship-USA, you can browse online the 14 publications and learn about specific employer internship programs. To access general information about the service, click on the above link. To access "The Internship Series on line" and get to work finding those internships, you wil be prompted for your VUnetID after clicking the link below.

The Versatile PhD: a new resource on non-academic careers for graduate students in humanities and social science

OptimalInterview - Mock Interviews

OptimalInterview
OptimalInterview lets students practice interviewing skills with real-to-life, multi-media interview scenarios that were developed by seasoned employment professionals to prepare them for even the toughest of interviews.

Getting Started

  1. Create an account, click on the Optimal Interview icon above
  2. You will be emailed a random code which you will use to validate your account.
  3. You will receive a confirmation email once you have validated your account and completed the registration process.

Conducting the Interview

  1. Log in to your Optimal Account
  2. Select Create New Interview under the Interview section (second row)
  3. Enter an interview name and select Start Interview.
  4. Select Interview Type, Length/Format, and Interviewer then click Continue Interview on the bottom of the page.
  5. Adjust the Camera and Microphone.
    1. Click Allow when Adobe Flash Player settings window displays.
  6. You are now ready to begin your interview
  7. For detailed instructions, go to the Optimal homepage under the Inside Section and select the PDF Interview Prep tab for instructions.

CQ Interactive
CQ Interactive is the most advanced on-line interactive case training developed. CQI focuses on the skills you need to walk into a case interview well prepared and confident. Although the Consulting industry is known for conducting case interviews, employers in Engineering, Finance, and others have begun to use this type of interview question to help assess a candidates problem solving abilities. From math drills and chart analysis to market sizing, this site will help you structure your answers to a variety of case questions. CQ Interactive

It is through the coaching relationship that you will maximize your opportunities and fully leverage Career Center resources to meet your professional development needs.

To get started, complete the ICAP (Individualized Coaching Action Plan) online, then stop by the Career Center for a Coaching Assessment during Coaching Express.  This 20-minute session with a Career Coach gives you a chance to have your resume critiqued, get answers to your questions, or develop an action plan for next steps.
